Core responsibilities:Responsible for the management oversight of the daily operations and support activities across the Data Center. Must be effective at managing a large, complex and diverse environment involving HP, EMC and other Wintel platforms. Ability to comprehend complex communication networks is a pre-requisite. The successful applicant will have ownership of the acquisition/installation of hardware equipment, software, and maintenance agreements. Responsible for coordinating the procedures and development of technical staff/vendors inline with global policies. Must have the ability to communicate opinions and thoughts, clearly and concisely to senior management, peers, staff personnel and customers.
•
Lead a team of operational engineers in managing day to day data center operations.
•
Schedules staff to ensure complete shift coverage. Ensures that all assigned tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
•
Establish maintenance and upgrade plans for the data center computing and network infrastructure when requested.
•
Analyzes equipment and operational failures to determine cause and develop corrective action plans.
•
Coordinates with all external organizations needed to support data center operations.
•
Assists in developing strategic and tactical initiatives to meet business objectives.
•
Facilities management including installation of new infrastructure and coordination.
•
Experience with disaster recovery scenarios.
•
Experience with multiple tape hardware devices and backup/recovery requirements.
•
Prepares reports and conducts analysis as requested or on a periodic basis.
•
Responsible and accountable for all inventory in the data center.
Requirements/Qualifications:
•
Bachelors degree in a relevant field
•
6 years in a similar role or equivalent management experience.
•
Effectively bilingual (Chinese and English) both written and conversational.
•
Experience in managing data center infrastructure (network, servers, SAN etc.)
•
Must be a good decision maker, exhibit critical thinking and have good problem solving skills.
•
Must be responsible, persistent, detailed oriented, flexible and a team leader.
•
Ability to work under stress and yet deliver results.
•
This position directly supervises the following position (outlined below).
